Lawn Mower Repair
Your Local Lawn Mower Service Provider!
To maximize the life expectancy of your lawn mower or lawn tractor, proper maintenance is something to highly consider. Though it is recommended to replace your mower every 5-7 years, keeping up with its repairs can extend the life of your mower and save money! As a lawn mower is used often, you can expect to have to attend to small repairs and servicing. Though majority of problems can be fixed without spending a lot of money, it's important to consider when the appropriate time to repair or replace your lawn mower is. At Farm Equipment Sales Inc. we have honest service technicians that not only can help determine when to repair or replace your mower but can also perform the repair you need!
Do you know what to watch out for? Below are some signs that your lawn mower or lawn tractor is in need of repairing:
- Does not start: The reason for starting issues could be from a faulty starter, bad spark plug or a plugged up carburetor. You can test your starter with an ohmmeter and a spark plug tester to check the plugs. If your starter and spark plugs are okay, check the carburetor. After gas sits for awhile it begins to evaporate. This allows for clogs to form. Simply drain out the old gas, clean out the carb and replace with new gasoline.
- Overheating: The most common overheating issue comes from clogged cooling fins. Cooling fins can be plugged up with leaves, grass and other debris. Clear the area out thoroughly to allow proper cooling.
- Smoke: Before you begin to worry about your lawn tractor being toast, replace your air filters. When an air filter gets clogged, the engine can pull oil past the piston rings, creating a cloud of smoke that smells like burning oil. Replace your air filters and check your piston rings.
